As the war rages in the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran – bruised by a humiliating spiral of degradation and defeat, and fearful of internal unrest – has turned its killing machine against its own citizens. A new campaign of terror against the Iranian people has begun with the execution of political prisoners. Four prisoners have been executed over the past two days by this criminal regime, adding to its ongoing murderous toll, which includes the four executions on march 18 and 19, with many more still on death row.
These killings are part of the regime’s desperate attempt to cling to power by systematically increasing pressure on the population and instilling fear to suppress any form of dissent. We must all raise our voices against the human rights violations and executions in Iran and ensure that these killings are not overshadowed by the war. Silence is the face of these atrocities is not an option.
